May birth stone is Emerald 五月の誕生石エメラルド

May’s birth stone is emerald. Emerald is a mesmerisingly beautiful green gemstone. Geologically, it belongs to the beryl species. Among these, trapiche emerald is one of the rarest mineral findings in the world.
IKURIA has been producing emerald jewellery for bespoke customers. Please click on our bespoke service and bespoke gallery pages for more information.

Emerald is requires TLC to keep its eternal beauty. It is not as hard as diamond, sapphire or ruby. We recommend professional cleaning. Please make sure you inform cleaners that your jewellery is made of these gemstones.
Never place emerald and other beryl gemstones in an ultrasonic cleaner.

On daily basis, avoid contact between emerald and water as much as possible. However, emerald likes a very small amount oil. Gently nurture it with your fingers and palms to keep the colour of the stone.

Only one in the world: bespoke jewellery 世界で一つのジュエリーを

Let's talk about bespoke jewellery. Bespoke jewellery is one-off jewellery pieces we make upon clients' special requests.

I love to work on bespoke jewellery because they normally represent clients' life events.

These are only a few examples of amazing bespoke jewellery.

Tanzanite in asscher cut. A client bought these beautiful stones in Tanzania.

These amazing purple stones are Tanzanite. The client brought in the loose stones, which she purchased in Tanzania. She said she was very attached to the stones and had lots of good memories behind them.

Tanzanite is a relatively rare stone, which can be mined only near Mount Kilimanjaro.

I named these very classical earrings "The Last Snows of Kilimanjaro" (I was a book worm when I was a child). Scientists say the snow cap of Mount Kilimanjaro will disappear completely within decades from now. It must be a life changing event to witness the snow cap.

This is the great example of old family jewellery being given a new life.

Another, very fashionable client brought in some of her grandmother's jewellery. They were beautiful, but indeed the style was generations old. We decided to remove diamonds and reuse them.

They were reborn as a contemporary, classy and trendy jewellery. A long necklace with medals incorporating client's initials C, G, J and A.

Long necklace (18k rose gold, diamonds taken from her grandmother's jewellery.

Break the mould! You can be as creative as you want to be when it comes to your bespoke jewellery order.

Wax seal cufflinks set with diamond (crazy!) and incorporating Japanese symbols, beauty, heroism and love.

These unusual cufflinks were made for yet another client's five year wedding anniversary. Beauty and heroism represent his wife's and his first name, respectively. They shared the symbol of love because, obviously, for their ever lasting love.

I have had a surreal experience, too.

A spiritual customer brought in six small aquamarine and asked me to design a pair of earrings with beautiful, but underused gemstone called spinel.

The whole design process was as though she guided me through. The earrings came out as though they are a piece of art.

Earrings with rare blue spinel (dark blue), diamond, pink spinel and aquamarine. 18k white gold.

Extremely unusual earrings. The design process was as though pure water was flowing out and it was the impression I associated to the client. So I named them Oasis.

These bespoke projects started from one email, one accidental meeting or friend's introduction. Please do not hesitate and talk to us.

Of course, women can wear cufflinks. Wax seal cufflinks (sterling silver, diamond)

Blue stones are aquamarine. Pink is spinel. One of the many pictures taken during the design process.
