Hannah and Hannah II
Cherry blossom is one of the national obsessions of the Japanese.
It blooms in spring, adorning the landscape across the country with white and pale pink.
However, the life of the cherry blossom is very short so people make the most of it, enjoying it when they can.
The Hannah collection is meant to capture the short moment of joy and last forever.
Hannah, or hana, means flower in the Japanese language, and is often the synonym of cherry blossom.
Cherry blossom has inspired many jewellery designers. In order to take the essence of cherry blossom and the joyous feelings behind it, Ikuko chose a simplified form for her jewellery, rather than representing it realistically.
